Konidala Pawan Kalyan was born on 2 September 1971 is an Indian politician,actor and philanthropist serving as the 10th Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since June 2024. He is also the Minister of Panchayat Raj,Rural Development and Rural Water Supply;Environment,Forests,Science and Technology in the Government of Andhra Pradesh and an MLA representing the Pitapuram constituency.He is the founder and president of the Janasena Party.
In 1996,Kalyan entered the world of acting with his debut,in the movie Akkada Ammay Ikkada AbbayI.He then experienced a series of six films,in which Tholi Prema (1998),Thammudu (1999),Badri (2000) and Kushi (2001) stood out as hits.These movies catapulted Kalyan to become a figure among the youth. Gained him a strong following, from his older brother Chiranjeevis fans.In 2001,Kalyan made history by becoming the South face for Pepsi.Despite facing setbacks in his career Kalyans popularity continued to rise despite some movie failures. He made a comeback in 2008 with the movie “Jalsa,” which was the grossing Telugu film of that year and went on to deliver more hits such, as “Gabbar Singh” in 2012 “Attarintiki Dared” in 2013 “Gopala Gopala” in 2015 and “Bheemla Nayak”in 2022.He was honored with the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role, in Gabbar Singh.”Kushi” and “Attarintiki Dared” both secured the title of being the grossing Telugu films of their eras.
